What is this?

Hey thanks for stopping by! This is a library of songs you can use in your projects without having to worry about licensing, copyright, take downs, etc...

I plan this to be a growing library you can use with a single purchase, so whenever I add new stuff in here you can come back and download the new music tracks for free. You can read more about the licensing details below.

Every song can be downloaded in WAV, MP3 (320kbps) or OGG (Vorbis) formats at 24 bit, 44100 Hz sample rate. Each file also includes metadata like "Artist Name", "Track Title", "Album Title", etc...useful for those fancy in-game jukeboxes 😎.

You can preview some of the songs included by using this Bandcamp player:

License

By purchasing this music library, you're getting a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free (Youtube/Twitch safe!) worldwide license on all current (and any future) music tracks added to this library...so feel free to use these on any of your projects!

You can use (and modify) any music track on this library for personal or commercial projects, however you can NOT redistribute, share, or resell them.

Attribution is required though! so please credit me as:

"Can I use this for other non-game projects?"

Absolutely! You can use any of these songs for your streams, vtubing, D&D sessions, animations, videos, etc...as long as you follow the license details mentioned above, go for it! If you have doubts about a specific use case just let me know (spoiler: its probably fine).

"How do I find a specific music style/track/song?"

I made this view-only spreadsheet you can use to search for specific tracks you might need: Google Spreadsheet Link

Ex: Do you need a boss battle track? Try searching "action". Looking for a calm, relaxing harp song? Just search "harp" and see what comes up.

"Which download should I use?"

  • For RPG Maker/GameMaker: the format recommended is OGG
  • For Unity/Godot:
    • WAV for uncompressed quality but bigger file size
    • MP3/OGG for compressed quality but smaller file size
  • For Unreal: the format recommended is WAV
  • For anything else: I suggest following Unity/Godot recommendations above, but feel free to use the one you prefer/need for your project.

"So how do I loop songs for my game?"

My songs usually follow a [intro] + [loop] + [ending] structure, which is helpful to create simple loops in your game and can also be used with more complex audio engines.

The way to make these tracks loop will vary based on your game engine of choice, so here are some common examples I've tried:

  • RPG Maker: This one is pretty straight forward!
    • Download the OGG version instead of the Loop Versions
    • Import the song into the engine
    • Go to Sound Test and click Play. You should hear it loop correctly!
This is done by a metadata that I embedded into the files to make the loop seamless. As long as you don't edit the metadata fields LOOPSTART & LOOPLENGTH it should work right out the box!
  • Unity/Unreal/Godot/etc: Most of these engines have complex timing issues with sample accurate transitions, or what's normally called "seamless" transitions. This means that while the looping section might loop correctly, the transition between the intro and loop sections might also have a noticeable gap ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

The solution? You could try user-made contributions like the amazing Godot Mixing Desk (now refactored as Godot Meta Player) or search around for scripts for your game engine. IMO the best solution is to use a dedicated middleware program like FMOD or Wwise (specially now that both offer free indie licenses!).

Either way, what you would like to do is:
    • Download the loop versions and import the files
    • Program the intro to play once first, then automatically play the loop section upon completion of the intro.
    • (optional) If you would like to jump to the ending after the loop you would need to play around with the timing of the transition to make it seamless, usually something like "wait until file playtime is equal to loop length" can help you with that but having players wait a while for the transition to happen might not be the best experience, so timing the transition right can take some effort to do just right.
  • Alternatively, if you just want something quick and don't care too much about the intro, you can just import the loop section alone, set its loop property to true, add some volume fade in/outs and call it a day 👍

"I can't find what I want"
"Can you add/make a track in X style?"

I have a few tracks still in progress from old drafts I'd like to polish and add to this library when I can.

If you'd like to commission some custom music, to be honest I'm mostly busy with my main job and other creative side-projects nowadays so I might not be able to 🙇 ... but still reach out, you never know!

Contact

If you use any of my music on your projects I would love to hear about it! I'm always happy to shout out any creative project, especially if my music is in it :)

※ If you currently don't have the budget to purchase this library send me a message, maybe we can trade skills or work something out.

Pricing/Donations

My goal is for this library to be a "$5 or more" purchase, which means you're able to add in an extra tip if you feel like. Indie budgets can get reaaally tight so please think twice before considering it!

If you'll like to do an extra "donation" after already buying this pack, consider buying it again as a gift for a friend or fellow creator! To do so, you can scroll down just before the comments, click "Buy Now" and choose "Give this asset pack as a gift".

Or...you can also buy any of my released soundtracks in Bandcamp: https://whitelotuz.bandcamp.com. Just be aware that those soundtracks can't be used in your own projects as they were commissioned under an exclusive license on most cases.

Thank you!
